Red

Red is the color classification for those who developed pyrokinetic powers as a result of IAAN. Red classified individuals have the ability to create and manipulate fire. As a result, they posses immense destructive potential, and are considered amongst the most dangerous of the PSI. Although the ratios are not well documented, it is likely that individuals possessing Red powers were relatively rare, even at the onset of IAAN. Reds were the only ones who all received some sort of physical side effect as a result of their powers. It caused some part of their body twitch or shake uncontrollably at times. This is how Mason got his nickname 'twitch', and the cause of Cole's hand spasms.

Fate

Individuals classified as Red were considered very dangerous, and were heavily controlled while in rehabilitation camps, such as Thurmond. However, these measures were often insufficient, and some Reds caused destruction and sowed chaos with their abilities. Eventually, they were removed from camps and relocated to another location, later revealed to be "Project Jamboree."

Project Jamboree was an attempt by the Grey government to utilize the most dangerous PSI as soldiers. Clancy Gray initially masterminded and helped oversee the project and conditioning of the project's participants, but was later removed from control after his motives were discovered. Despite this, Project Jamboree went ahead as planned and and was successful in creating a number of brainwashed soldiers. These individuals were used by great effect for both combat purposes, and as security for the established rehabilitation camps. While the conditioning was successful overall, at least one Red, Lucas Orfeo, managed to stave it off and maintain his identity.
